Owl Charm

Happy Monday everyone. I love to sew and have a rotary cutter that has an Owl pattern on it. One day I had a bright idea to make a charm for my rotary cutter. I do have ideas once in a while (hee, hee).
Here is a closer look so you can see the owls on the cutter.
Close up of the front.

And a close up of the back.

I used the Create a Critter cartridge and cut out the front and back in a coordinating color. Tried to get a color that would look good with the rotary cutter. I cut out the other layers as well. There is a solid black center and I cut out 6 of these. I glued all 6 of these black layers together, then the other layers were added. Oh don't forget to use a hole punch and punch out the key ring hole as you go. After all was put together I used Mod Podge and a small flat paint brush and applied 3 coats. Let the coats dry in between and don't forget to paint it along the edges. This really makes a nice seal over the paper.

I have made these before and given them as a gift with the key chain. They really are quick and easy to make. You may want to give it a go and see what other little critters you can use.

God Bless,
Kellie

Halloween Cards 2011

Hello fellow bloggers. Here are some Halloween cards that I made for friends and family. All cards were made using my Gypsy and the Mini Monsters cartridge.
All these cards can be made with out a Gypsy. The Mini Monsters cartridge had a tab that has them already pre-made. All you have to do is select the tab and size and have some fun.
Here is the inside of the pumpkin card, can you see the cute little spider I stamped on the leaf.
Here is a close up with the cute little cats. I bought this cat punch at Joanns for $1.00, what a deal. These cards were a lot of fun to make. If you don't have this cartridge I would highly recommend it.

Materials used:
Mini Monsters Cricut cartridge
Tim Holtz Distressing Ink in Tea Dyed and Black Soot
White Jelly Roll pen
Misc stamps and bobble eyes

God bless you all for stopping by.

Puppy Love Card

Hello bloggers. Okay on my previous post I shared a wall hanging called "Puppy Love". I loved those puppies so much that I used the same pattern and made a couple of cards to send to my son's in Texas.
First I used the template to cut out paper pieces instead of the fabric. Boy my Cricut sure is a lot faster and easier than doing this by hand. Then I inked them up and glued them together just the same as we would with our Cricut cut outs.
I used black dew drops for the eyes and noses on these cute little guys. Added some stitching around the puppies, cards and sentiment.

If you missed my "Puppy Love" wall hanging have a look at my previous post. I hope you enjoyed my puppies.

God bless,
Kellie

Puppy Love Wall Quilt

Hello there bloggers, I wanted to share this really super duper cute puppy wall hanging I just finished. It was designed by Racheal T. Pellman. It's a fabric wall hanging but the puppies, hearts, leaves and vines are made of wool. This was so much fun to make and I'm in love with the puppies.

Here is a closer view, now are they not cute or what.
This is not a large wall hanging it measures 13" x 15" and now hangs in my craft room. I think I'll try and make a card out of these cute little guys.

God bless you all and thanks for stopping by.

Moms Birthday Card

Hello fellow bloggers. I just posted my moms birthday gifts I made her and now I want to share the card I made her. Again I had to wait until I gave it to her before I posted it because she would have look at my blog and saw it. And yes she did admit that she looked this morning to see if I had posted it, she is such a stinker! Here it is mom you can look now...Here it is from the front.

Then open it up and....

When you lift up the presents they have a little note under them.
I kept the Happy Birthday simple and did some white stitching in the center to help it pop...oh ya I stitched around the card too. I used stickles on the cake, flames on the cake, hat and the gifts inside. Love the stickles.

Here is what I used to make this card.
Cartridge: Once Upon A Princess (I LOVE this cartridge)
Paper: DCWV
Misc: Stickles, white gel pen, flower brads, Studio G stamp, Glossy Accents for spots on dress.

Thanks for stopping by and God bless,
Kellie

Moms Birthday Gifts

Hello blogger friends. I was going to post this earlier but my mother checks my blog on a regular basis and she would have seen her gifts I made her. She loves the slippers I knit for her so I have to make a couple pairs a year. She was hinting and hinting about how her pair has a hole in them and she needed new ones. Mind you that this hinting started over a month ago. I just kind of brushed it off and made her wait. I not only knitted up a pair of slippers for her I also made two pairs of ankle socks for her as well.
So I went to her work today and delivered the gifts. She loved them. Just talked to her (it's now 8:57pm) in my neck of the woods and she had her slippers on and was very happy. Thanks for taking a look.

God bless,
Kellie

Knitted Leather Sole Slippers

Hi bloggers, I just wanted to share a quick post. Here is a pair of knitted slippers that I made. I first knitted up these slippers and then sewed them to a leather sole.
The yarn is so soft and fluffy. I love it on my feet.

If your a knitter too I hope you will try knitting up a pair of these slippers for the cold weather coming. They are quick easy and fun to make. Enjoy!

Pattern: Easy Family Slippers by Polar Knit
Yarn: Quick & Cozy by Lion Brand Yarn in Blueberry
Sole: Suede Slipper Soles by Boye

Fall Leaves Wall Hanging

Hello bloggers, I have a sewing post to share with you today. I made this cute wall hanging out of felt. I wanted to make something for fall, after all it is that time of year. This pattern is called 'Dive Into Fall' and is by Julie Bohringer. I got the pattern out of the Fall 2011 issue of the Fons & Porters magazine.
Isn't this so cute. It looks like a little boy has fallen into a big pile of leaves.

Here is a closer look. I cut the leaves out and then sewed veins in the leaves to attach them to the wall hanging. I like how the leaves fluff or curl up at the edges. I just love this wall hanging and all the fall colors.

God bless,
Kellie

Monday Challenge #28 - Too Cute to Spook!

Good morning bloggers. Just wanted to share a card I made for the Monday Challenge at My Craft Spot. This weeks challenge is to create a cute Halloween Project. I came up with this cute witches hat card. So click on the link above and go on over to My Craft Spot and check out all of the cute projects all the crafty ladies came up with.

I used lots of Stickles on the shapes on this hat to make it sparkle. I love Stickles.
I used the Mini Monsters cartridge for this card and my Gypsy. The Mini Monsters cartridge has a card feature that has the shapes already welded together for you. They are super easy to make. You can see how this cute hat open in the picture above. I printed out labels with my blog address on them with my computer so  I could easily add them to the backs of my cards. I got this idea from my friend Cindy at Card Crazy Me 53. She makes some beautiful cards so please go over and check out her blog.

Supplies used:
Cricut Cartridge: Mini Monsters
Card Stock: Cosmo Cricket, Matilda Mini Deck
Misc: Stickles in Green, Gold and Purple

God bless you all,
Kellie
