Monday Challenge #26 - Ribbon

Hello fellow bloggers I made this card to enter into the Monday Challenge over at My Craft Spot. This weeks challenge is to incorporate ribbon in your card.
I used ribbon behind the sentiment, behind the button flower and in the flowers hair. Well I guess she doesn't have hair but if she did that's where it would be right.
I distressed around the flower edges then inked them up. I also used a pink glitter gel pen to add some stitching around the edges and on her cheeks and around the edge of the card. I think she turned out really sweet.

Supplies used:
Cartridge: Create a Critter
Card Stock: DCWV
Ribbon: Martha Stewart
Ink: Tim Holtz Distressing Ink in Tattered Rose
Button: Martha Stewart
Sentiment: TPC Studio

God Bless you all,
Kellie

Aunt Judy's Birthday Card

Hello blogger friends. My Aunts birthday is at the end of the month and I want to share the card that I made for her. I saw this Diamond Fold card on Creations With Christina and she has a great video on how to do this fold. I used my Once Upon a Princess cartridge for this card. This card measures 4"x4".

Here it is folded up.
Here is a side view. This card has lots of dimension to it. I really like it and it is super easy to make.

Left side of the card.

Center of the card.

Right side of the card. I wrote a little something on the back of this flap to my aunt.

Cricut Cartridge: Once Upon a Princess
Paper: DCWV - Adhesive Prints & The Sweet Matstack with Glitter
Sentiment: Studio G
Other Items: Corner Chompers (for envelope), Stickles, Glossy accents (for cupcake wrapper) and decrotive scissors to cut out sentiments.
Lets not forget a pretty envelope. I used a dye cut and embossing folder to make the stamp.

Here is the inside of the envelope. This envelope is for an A2 sized card.

To make this envelope start with a 7 3/4" x 10" piece of paper.
Lay it long ways (10") across the top of your score board and score at 2 1/2" & 7" (this makes the top & bottom flap). Turn paper so the short side is now across the top of your board and score 1" in on either side of the paper (this makes the side flaps). You will now see rectangles on all four corners of the paper, you need to cut these out, then fold on all score lines to make your envelope. To add a decorative lining cut a piece of coordinating paper at 5 1/2" x 4 1/2" and glue to the inside top portion of your envelope. NOTE: the lining does not go all the way down to the bottom of the envelope. You can cut it so it will but I just don't to save paper. You then fold the top flap down to crease the inside lining of your envelope. Fold the two outside small flaps in and place glue on them and fold up the bottom flap. I hope this is not to confusing, maybe I'll do a tutorial on this in the near future.

God bless you all,
Kellie

Pretty Tote

Hi fellow bloggers, I just wanted to share a pretty little tote that I made. This is great for taking along your special things such as your Gypsy & booklets to look through, or your Nook book eReader or knitting projects.
I first made this quilt block then used it for a front panel for my tote.

I added buttons to the front panel and to the handles for a little decoration.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed my tote.

God bless you all,
Kellie

Mothers Cricut Dust Cover

Hello fellow bloggers. I had shared my Cricut dust covers I had made and as promised here is the one my mother made. She is a big quilter and wanted to incorporate a quilt block into her pattern for the cover. I think her cover turned out really beautiful.
Here is the view from the front. Don't you love the colors she used.

Another view from the side this time.

She had some old vintage buttons in her button stash and they matched and look perfect on this cover.
You can find the Cricut Dust Cover pattern at Custom Crops. There is a tutorial there so you can see how it is done. You can alter it and make it your own just as my mother has done. Have fun.

God Bless you all,

September Birthday Cards

Hello blogger friends. I have a couple of birthdays coming up in September so I thought I would share the a couple cards I made for them. First is my husbands card. He likes monkeys so I made him this card with the Create a Critter cartridge and my Gypsy.
I used my Seweasy tool to create the vine.

I know the banana is to big for the monkey but I wanted to put my Happy Birthday stamp on it, so it will just have to do. I added a few dashes and dots here and there with my gel pen to finish it off.

My 2nd card is for my mother-in-laws birthday. Also used my Gypsy and the Create a Critter for her card.

This seal is really cute. For the background I used two different Cuttlebug folders in D'vine Swirl and Spots & Dots.
Again I used my Seweasy to stitch the banner pattern then added some clear dew drops (not sure what they are called).

I used my pink chalk on her little nose and added some little white whiskers dots. You can't see it from the photo but I used glossy accents on the nose and eyes.

On the platform I added some chalking and a couple dots of pink stickles.
I hope you enjoyed my cards. Have a great Friday tomorrow.

God Bless,
Kellie

Cricut Dust Covers

Hello fellow bloggers. Sorry I haven't been posting much lately, been a little distracted around here. I got together with my mom last Friday and we worked on making Cricut Dust Covers for our Expressions. We had so much fun together but didn't quite get the covers done, we played around too much I think. Brought mine home and got it finished and then made one for my Cricut Create. She had to have one too. I got the pattern from Custom Crops.  Here are some photos.
This one is for my Cricut Expression.
Here's a closer look at the fabric. I love the tea pots and tea cups. I added a green paisley trim to the bottom and a little bit of lace.
Here is my Cricut Create Cover.
The fabric is from a 1930's vintage pattern collection. I used a green coordinating fabric and made bows for each end of the cover.
These covers are really easy and fun to make so go ahead and give it a try. As soon as my mother gets her finished I'll post hers too.

Panda Card

Hello blogger friends. Just a quick post here. I sent a gift box down to my boys in Texas and here is a card that I placed inside of the box. It's from the Create a Critter cartridge. I used my Gypsy to create this card and tag.
I heat embossed the sentiment and used some ribbon and self sticking green pearls to juzz it up a bit.

God Bless you all,

Card for Ducati

Hello blogger friends and happy Sunday. I have a card to share with you that I made for my son's dog. I know it's a dog but I love him dearly. Just a little bit of background. My oldest son had to move back in with us for a while and had a dog, her name is Chyenne. Well she had puppies while living with us and my youngest wanted to keep one. We let Chris keep one and he named him Ducati. He lived at our house so we basically raised him so he was like my own dog. Both my son's now live in Texas but mama dog Chyenne is staying with us up her in WA for a while. Any how Chris called last week and told us that Ducati (the baby, now 5 yrs old) had a stroke and the whole right side of his face just sags. He sent us a picture and it just broke my heart. So I got out my Gypsy and came up with this card.
I started by making a copy of the bone, flipping it over and welding the ends together so I could score it down the center after it was cut to make the base for the card. I then copied the bone again and made it a little larger than the the first bone so I could place it on top of the base. I have some brads that are bones and dog prints that were perfect for this card.
I have some doggy stamps so I first stamped this bone, cut it out and then stamped a sentiment in it. The sentiment says "SPOILED BUT WORTH IT!". Used pop dots to place it on the card.
Here is another stamp from that set. After stamping it I cut it out and punched a hole in the top of the dog tag. Used a little twine to tie it around the dogs neck.

I inked Chyenne's paw and stamped it on a piece of paper and cut it out. After cutting it out I stuck it on the inside of the card with her name. On the other side we wrote a little note to him. Well that's my card, I hope you liked it.

Cartridge: Create a Critter (used on my Gypsy)
Stamps: Misc. dog stamps
Ink: Tim Holtz distressing ink in Tea Dye
Misc: brads, twine, white and black gel pen

Thanks for looking and God Bless you all,
Kellie

We R Memories - Seweasy

Good morning fellow bloggers. Went to Craft Warehouse yesterday and they had the We R Memories Seweasy on sale for 40% off. I use to cross stitch all the time and thought that this may be fun to add a little design to my cards. If you don't know what a Seweasy is here is a look at it below.
Here is a closer look. It comes with the pink stitch piercer and the others are sold separately. You can see the basic shapes that each one pierces.

I kept the cards that each piercing head came on because on the back it shows the different stitches that each one makes. You can see above that each one makes 3 different stitches.
Here is a closer look at what the piercers look like. They are very sharp. You place your paper on the foam mat and push down piercing the paper and roll it along the area you want pierced. It leaves the little holes in the paper and then all you have to do is sew it up.
Here is a quick card that I made so I could try my new Seweasy. I just wanted to try out the straight stitch piercer. I know I covered up a lot of it but you can see it on the bottom. It was really easy and fun to use. I used the Walk In My Garden cartridge for the flower. The Seweasy is not really for delicate areas that is why I hand stitched around the flower. I added Tim Holtz Distressing ink in Wild Honey around the edges of the flower and the tag.

The sentiment is from Studio G. I had bought these cute spiral brads a while back and kind of forgot about them, I really like them how could that have happened. I ripped the edge of the background paper instead of cutting it. I was going to ink it but I decided to leave it so there would be a more vibrant frame.
This is what it looks like from the inside, not to bad, I think I like it. Adds a little design to the inside as well as the outside. Any how at 40% off I got it all for $20, not bad for the handle, 6 stitch piercing heads, a needle and the mat. I hope to use it on more cards in the future.

Thanks for stopping by and God Bless,
Kellie

Gypsy Wanderings Note Cards

Hello blogger friends. I have a quick post for you tonight. When I purchased my Gypsy it came with 5 free cartridges loaded on it, one of them being Gypsy Wanderings. I was looking at some of the images and decided to make a set of 5 note cards. I figured that I could give these as a gift set in the future. I bought the note cards from Joann's and they measure 3" x 3", they came with little envelopes and I got them at 40% off.

I was able to layout everything at once on my Gypsy and do it all in one cut. Have I ever told you how much I love my Gypsy. Makes things so easy and fast. Lay it out, place the paper colors in the corresponding places and CUT! How quick and easy...

Used some Tim Holtz Distressing ink in Tea Dye, misc twine, buttons, and self sticking gems. It was lots of fun to make these tiny little cards. Hope you enjoyed them.

Thanks for stopping by and God Bless you,
Kellie
