Birthday Bird

Hi there blogger friends. My father-in-laws birthday is in a few days and I wanted to share the card I made for him. It's very simple but I love how it turned out with the soft colors.
I used my computer to print the sentiment on coordinating paper then cut it out.
I used Glossy Accents on the eye, beak, and musical notes. Used a little twine for a bow around the birds neck.

I put some very tinny self adhesive black pearls on the bottom of each little pointed scallop to dress it up a bit.

Card Recipe
Cricut Cartriges: Nifty Fifties for Bird, Country Life for Banner.
Tim Holtz Distressing Ink: Tea Dye
Paper: Cosmo Cricket-Wanted (6 x 6 Mini Deck)
Misc: Self adhesive black pearls, black Gelly Roll Pen , twine

I hope you like my little Birthday Bird. Please feel free to leave a comment and come back soon.

God Bless you all,
Kellie

Peachy Keen Challenge #55

Hello there blogger friends, hope all is well. I bought this new background stamp last weekend at a flee market for $5.00, what a bargain. It measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/2". I used this stamp as the building block and my inspiration for this card. I love how it turned out, it's even prettier in person than in the picture. I'm entering this card in to the "Peachy Keen Stamps' Sketch Challenge #55". They provide a layout and you are to create your card based upon this. Join in the fun and hop on over to Peachy Keen and see all the great cards made for this challenge.

Here are the requirements for this challenge.

1. Create a card based on the layout provided (Peachy Keen Stamps are not required for this challenge, but if you've got them, we looooove seeing how you create with them!)

2. Project must include basic elements from the sketch, but feel free to get creative and flip them.

I first stamped out the background paper then cut it down to 4 1/4" x 4 1/4"
The dress is from the Nifty Fifties cartridge cut at 4".
These paper flowers are brown and light salmon pink colored.

I placed pearls at the waist line and on the skirt. I used a green checkered strip of paper behind the dress.
I didn't want to cover up the newspaper printed background any more than I had to, so I used velum and embossed my sentiment on it in black. I really like this because I can still see the background through it.
God Bless you,
Kellie

Thinking of You Poodle Card

Hello Blogger friends. Wanted to post this poodle card real quick. I have wanted to make this cute little poodle from the Nifty Fifties cartridge for a while now. Had a little extra time today to finally make it.
Here is a closer view to see the embossing on the poodle.
I embossed the background with a floral stamp and used clear glitter embossing powder. I stamped the sentiment frame twice on two different papers then cut out the center of the pink one and embossed the sentiment with black embossing powder. Then added 3 pretty little buttons and WaaLaa I was done.
I hope you enjoyed my card.

God Bless you all,
Kellie

Mothers Day Card 2

This is the card I made for my mother-in-law who is also my best friend. She loves cats and black ones at that. When I saw this cat I knew it was perfect for her. "Cool Cat" just like my mommy-in-law.
